OpenAI Inc. is set to purchase the artificial intelligence (AI)-backed coding tool Windsurf for approximately $3 billion.

Sources familiar with the matter said, as cited by Bloomberg, that the deal is not yet finalized but an agreement is expected.

Earlier, OpenAI announced it would continue being controlled by a nonprofit even after restructuring into a commercial entity.
