OpenAI is trying to modify certain clauses of its contract with its top shareholder, Microsoft Corporation, The Information reported.
OpenAI allegedly demands some financial concessions, including cutting the amount of revenue it splits with Microsoft in the future and barring the tech giant from accessing the artificial intelligence (AI) developer's intellectual property linked to the acquisition of Windsurf. OpenAI would offer Microsoft a stake of approximately 33% in exchange for giving up its rights to future profits.
Additionally, it was reported that OpenAI wants to change clauses that enable Microsoft to have exclusive rights to host OpenAI's tools in its cloud.
