Meta's EPS at $6.43 in Q1, beats expectations

Meta Platforms Inc. revealed on Wednesday that its earnings per share in the first quarter of fiscal 2025 came in at $6.43, surging 37% year over year and coming above analyst expectations.

Revenue in the three months ending March 31 stood at $42.3 billion, up 16% compared to the same timeframe in 2024, while net income soared 35% to $16.6 billion. Second quarter total revenue is expected to be between $42.5 billion and $45.5 billion.

"We've had a strong start to an important year, our community continues to grow and our business is performing very well. We're making good progress on AI glasses and Meta AI, which now has almost 1 billion monthly actives," CEO Mark Zuckerberg said.

The company's stock popped 4.19% in the after-hours trade following the release of the report.
