French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday held a phone call with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and underlined the importance of "restoring Palestinian governance in Gaza, fully involving the Palestinian Authority," according to Macron's office.

Macron further stressed that it is necessary the Gaza Strip to form part of "a future Palestinian State" in order to avoid the possibility of another "massacre" like the one Hamas conducted on October 7,2023.
