Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that the European Union is actively pursuing the continuation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, contrary to the new United States administration.

"Europeans are still on the path of sanctions dive, on the path of conviction to continue the war," Peskov stated at a press briefing. "This conviction of the Europeans is in complete contrast to the spirit of seeking a solution regarding Ukraine, which we are now doing with the Americans," he added.

Furthermore, the spokesman claimed that there are still no preconditions for resuming dialogue with the EU after the block adopted a new package of sanctions against Russia, targeting Russian banks, trade entities, vessels allegedly linked to the Russian administration, and media outlets.
