Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani met on Saturday with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi ahead of the second round of US-Iran nuclear talks in Rome, and voiced his hope to see a positive outcome from these negotiations.

"I received the Iranian Foreign Minister @araghchi and encouraged him to continue on the path of negotiations against nuclear weapons. The Italian Government hopes that together we can reach a positive solution for the Middle East," Tajani said in a post on X.

Talks between the US and Iran started last Saturday in Oman, and continue today at the Omani ambassador's residence in Rome.
