Offici8als are looking into whether Southern California Edison utility equipment may have contributed to the start of the fire in Hurst, Captain Adam Vangerpen of the Los Angeles Fire Department told the Los Angeles Times.

Earlier, the company "confirmed its downed conductor was found near the fire but noted it "does not know whether the damage observed occurred before or after the start of the fire" and added that "fire agencies are investigating whether SCE equipment was involved in the ignition" of the fire.
