IBM to invest $150B in US
International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) shared on Monday its plans to invest $150 billion in the United States over the course of the next five years.
IBM announced that it will fund research and development with over $30 billion in order to boost the US production of mainframe and quantum computers. As stated by the company, this further deepens the loyalty to the future of the country's technical innovations, creating new economic possibilities not only in the US but globally as well.
"Technology doesn't just build the future — it defines it. We have been focused on American jobs and manufacturing since our founding 114 years ago, and with this investment and manufacturing commitment, we are ensuring that IBM remains the epicenter of the world's most advanced computing and AI capabilities," CEO of the company Arvind Krishna commented.
