IAEA: Iran agrees to limit uranium enrichment to 60%
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi shared on Wednesday that Iran agreed to cap its uranium enrichment levels at 60%, expressing optimism that Tehran would adhere to the terms of the agreement aimed at addressing concerns about its nuclear program.
Speaking at the press conference, Grossi said that the board of governors is expected to discuss a censure resolution against Tehran, with the director general urging member countries not to condemn Iran.
According to an IAEA report, as of October 26, Iran's stockpile of uranium enriched to 60% had reached 182.3 kilograms, an increase of 17.6 kilograms since August, bringing it close to the quantity required for a nuclear weapon. However, the report also noted that Iran has pledged not to further expand its stockpiles.
