Finland's Stubb: Trump running out of patience with Putin
Finland's President Alexander Stubb said on Monday that his American counterpart Donald Trump is the only person who can secure a ceasefire in Ukraine, stressing that the US leader is "running out of patience with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin."
In an interview with Sky News following his visit to Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence, Stubb insisted that a deadline for a ceasefire in Ukraine should be set, adding that April 20 would be a convenient date for such a deadline. "But that deadline must be combined with a really tough stick, and that stick could actually come from Senator Lindsey Graham's proposal with over 50 senators about a colossal package of sanctions" against Russia if it does not agree to a ceasefire deal.
Furthermore, Stubb ensured that one of Trump's main priorities is "to get peace in Ukraine," emphasizing that Russia is the main obstacle to an agreement.
