US turns to gains premarket as tariffs, data loom
Major stock equities in the United States traded with gains before the opening of Monday's trading session, with tariffs and economic data in investors' focus. Traders are assessing looming US tariffs on goods from China, Mexico, and Canada set to go into effect tomorrow. At the same time, the markets are bracing for important economic data that will indicate the activity in the US manufacturing sector.
The Dow Jones traded in green territory at 7:34 am ET, growing 0.29% while the Nasdaq 100 added 0.67% at the same minute. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 rose 0.43.
The euro was 0.91% stronger against the dollar, selling for $1.04709 at 7:03 am ET.
