Europe closes mostly lower with inflation in spotlight
Major stock indexes in Europe traded mostly lower at the close on Wednesday as investors scrutinized the latest consumer price report from the United States, which saw annual inflation accelerating in October. Tomorrow, the Eurozone gross domestic product and Spanish inflation will be on the agenda.
The DAX lost 0.21% at the close, as Porsche dropped 7.07%. The Euro Stoxx 50 finished the session trading 0.09% lower, with Infineon tumbling 4.70%. The CAC 40 was down 0.14% at the closing bell, as STMicroeletronics slid 4.23%. At the same time, the FTSE 100 stood flat.
The euro traded 0.46% below the dollar at 5:33 pm CET, changing hands for 1.05729. At the same time, the pound was down 0.21% against the greenback, selling for 1.27194.
