Europe closes mostly higher with Trump in focus

Major stock market indexes in Europe closed mostly higher on Tuesday after the inauguration of United States President Donald Trump, which pushed Wall Street up. Meanwhile, Germany and the Eurozone posted better-than-expected numbers in the current economic situation assessment.
The DAX rose by 0.18% as Siemens Energy AG advanced by 3.31%. The FTSE 100 gained 0.35%, with Lloyd's Banking Group PLC jumping by 3.99%. The CAC 40 grew by 0.53% as LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE increased by 2.66% at 5:36 pm CET. The Euro Stoxx 50 stood flat.
The euro and the pound sterling stood flat against the dollar at 5:28 pm CET to sell for $1.04126 and $1.23185, respectively.
