Europe closes lower on 2024's last complete day of trading

Major stock markets in Europe ended Monday in the red territory, reflecting cautious sentiment ahead of the year-end. On Tuesday, markets in Japan, South Korea, and Germany will remain closed, while trading hours will vary globally. The British FTSE will close at 13:30 CET, and the CAC 40 at 14:05 CET.

The DAX lost 0.59% with Siemens Health.AG decreasing 1.73%. The FTSE 100 dropped 0.35% as Fresnillo PLC went 2.30% down. The EURO STOXX 50 fell 0.60% with Prosus NV losing 2.26%. The CAC 40 declined by 0.57% as L'Oreal fell 2.06%.

The euro traded 0.46% lower against the dollar at 5:29 pm CET to sell for $1.03787. Simultaneously, the pound sterling lost 0.54% against the United States currency to change hands for $1.25125.
