Europe closes higher on US-China tariff optimism
Major stock market indexes in Europe closed higher on Friday after China said it might review the option of starting talks with the United States on their trade tensions.
The DAX rose by 2.54% or 571 points as Siemens Energy AG jumped by 7.49% at 5:40 pm CET. The FTSE 100 increased by 1.13%, with International Consolidated Airlines Group SA soaring by 5.01% at 5:35 pm CET. The CAC 40 gained 2.33% as Schneider Electric SE garnered 5.68%. The Euro Stoxx 50 advanced by 2.43%, with ING Groep NV surging by 7.38% at 5:39 pm CET.
The euro grew by 0.45% against the dollar at 5:38 pm CET to sell for $1.13411. The pound sterling went up by 0.13% against the US currency to go for $1.13945.
