Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone conversation on Monday with his Russian colleague Vladimir Putin to discuss the ongoing hostilities between Israel and Iran.

Erdogan reiterated Turkey's position that conflict can only be resolved through diplomacy while warning that the Israeli government's "lawless attitude poses a flagrant threat to the international system."

In addition, the Turkish leader warned Israel's military action against Iran should not "distract attention from the genocide in Gaza" adding that it is "highly likely for Israel to engage in faits accomplis in the region."
