EU finds TikTok's ad repository breaks rules

The European Commission published preliminary investigation results on Thursday, which found that the social media app TikTok breached the Digital Services Act (DSA) regarding advertising. It concluded TikTok does not have an ad repository, including information about the content of the advertisements, the users targeted by them, and who paid for them.

The Commission said it informed the app of the findings, allowing it to respond to them. According to the DSA, the Commission could impose a fine of up to 6% of TikTok's total worldwide annual turnover and an enhanced supervision period to ensure compliance.
