China's Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang on Tuesday called for global collaboration to advance artificial intelligence in developing nations, along with innovations in intelligent transportation, smart energy, and emerging infrastructure.

The vice premier also stressed the need to accelerate the integration of information technology into "key livelihood sectors" during his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, noting that this would help more countries "get on board" with the rapid pace of digital economic development.

The vice premier underlined the importance of promoting multilateralism "for the benefit of all humanity," adding that the North-South divide has become "more pronounced" in recent years.
