OpenAI announced on Thursday a new tool in ChatGPT deep research that will help analyze codebases on GitHub.

The first "connector" will be able to search the web and other sources to compile reports on various topics. Moreover, the model can now be linked to GitHub in a beta version, which would allow developers and programmers to find answers about codebases and engineering documents. This new feature will be available in the next few days for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Team users, while Enterprise and Edu will get this support shortly, as an OpenAI spokesperson said.

"I often hear that users find ChatGPT's deep research agent so valuable that they want it to connect to their internal sources, in addition to the web. [That's why] today we're introducing our first connector," OpenAI Head of Business Products Nate Gonzalez wrote in a blog post on LinkedIn.
