United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken said at a news conference in Seoul that the US believes Russia plans to enhance space cooperation with North Korea, AFP reported on Monday.

"The DPRK is already receiving Russian military equipment and training. Now we have reason to believe that Moscow intends to share advanced space and satellite technology with Pyongyang," Blinken said, addressing North Korea by its official name. His comment came hours after Pyongyang fired off a ballistic missile toward the East Sea, which South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said was a "clear provocation."

"Under a firm South Korea-U.S. combined defense posture, our military will closely monitor various North Korean activities so that it does not misjudge the current security situation," the JCS said after the launch, according to Yonhap.
