Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated on Tuesday contacts with the United States "over the next few days" cannot be ruled out.

Her comment came shortly after the United States and Ukraine released a joint statement declaring the latter country agreed to a 30-day ceasefire with Russia. US officials further stated they expect Moscow to give its reply to the offer.

Additionally, US President Donald Trump revealed there will be another meeting with Russia "later on today or tomorrow" and that he plans to speak with his Russian colleague Vladimir Putin sometime during this week.
