United States President Joe Biden will meet with his national security team Sunday to receive an update on the situation in Syria, according to National Security Council spokesperson Sean Savett.

The meeting comes after significant developments in Syria, where President Bashar al-Assad is said to have stepped down. He was ousted after rebels took control of Damascus.
