Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs made comments on Tuesday about United States President Donald Trump's remarks that Beijing's practices should be investigated.

The essence of the US-China relations is "mutual benefits and win-win [cooperation]," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said during a press conference, underlining that "maintaining stable development" between Washington and Beijing in the economic and trade spheres is "in the interest of the two countries and their peoples."

The spokesperson went on to say that China is ready and willing to work with the Trump administration, as it wants to further strengthen ties with the US and "properly manage differences." For the time being, Trump has put off potential new tariffs against the East Asian country.
