At least 22 people have been killed in an Israeli airstrike on a school in Gaza that is being used as a shelter for displaced people amid the war, Al-Jazeera reported on Thursday, citing medical sources.

The sources noted the number of casualties from the attack on the Rufaida school in central Gaza's Deir el-Balahis is expected to rise as emergency services are still transporting victims from the site of the attack to a hospital.
