Asia-Pacific mixed amid new tariff talks
Major stock market indexes in the Asia-Pacific region traded mixed on Wednesday as United States President Donald Trump's administration continued to discuss trade with Japan and South Korea. Meanwhile, Japan reported a lower annual rise in producer prices in April than in March.
The Nikkei 225 declined by 0.62% or 238 points at 4:23 am CET as the US dollar lost 0.19% to the yen to sell for ¥147.20000. A minute later, South Korea's Kospi rose by 0.86%. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 decreased by 0.17%.
In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite declined by 0.13% at 4:09 am CET. The Shenzhen Composite went down by 0.43%. In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng jumped by 1.30% or 300 points at 4:25 am CET.
