Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Guo Jiakun slammed on Wednesday the United States' latest decision to add more Chinese companies to its "entity list." Earlier, the US Commerce Department expanded the list, with over 50 Chinese companies included. Washington cited security concerns as the reason for the move.

During a press conference, the spokesperson accused the US of continuously abusing its export control tools. The spokesman underscored that using excuses such as national security worries or foreign policy concerns is "typical hegemonic behavior."

Meanwhile, talking about US comments that Beijing remains "the most comprehensive and robust military threat," the spokesperson reiterated that Washington is releasing "such irresponsible and biased reports year after year," with the sole purpose of "containing and suppressing China."
