Israel's team reportedly to stay for further Cairo talks

Israel's delegation sent for the negotiations over a new ceasefire agreement with Hamas hosted by Egypt and attended by the United States and Qatar will remain in Cairo and try to overcome the gaps in the two sides' demands and proposals, Axios's Barak Ravid reported on Wednesday.

An Israeli source told the journalist that the team made significant efforts to bridge the gaps and try to reach a deal. They added that the proposal Hamas tabled "crossed all the red lines" and that Israel cannot accept it.

Furthermore, the source said that Israel's ground operation in the Gazan city of Rafah will continue while the negotiations take place.
