Israel allegedly giving Hamas 'last chance' prior Rafah op

Israeli authorities informed Egyptian officials that they are willing to give a "last chance" to hostage negotiations and a potential deal with Hamas, but warned that if the parties fail to reach an agreement, Israel will launch the announced ground operation in Gaza's city of Rafah, Axios reported on Friday, citing three senior Israeli officials.

"Israel told Egypt that it is serious about preparations for the operation in Rafah and that it will not let Hamas drag its feet," one of the sources said.

Additionally, one of the officials stated that Israel is willing to compromise on the terms of the hostage deal and authorized the Egyptian mediators to proceed with negotiations.
